Burton Tower
Burton Tower (10”x10” x 30” tall, 6400 pieces)
I kept going with my university, adding a clock tower. This time, I made the clock so it “really” worked. Oh, it didn’t exactly keep time, but the mechanism did move the same way a clock would. On NELUG layouts, I usually have it running so fast that it appears as if the minifigures are speeding through time.
This tower is based off of the Burton tower carillon on the main campus of the University of Michigan. My wife and I both attended graduate school here. It's not where we met, she basically dragged me there after we were married. Still, my experience at UofM was a great one. I never thought I would be so connected to my grad school. I don't think they let people leave UofM without becoming a fan.
